The last day for the appeal decision to be handed down is 90 days from October 11, 2017 so that will be January 9, 2018. A decision will be handed down by that date.

For a few reasons they have not been hacked. Their public websites are not hosted on their network, they use AWS to host those sites. Most bethelietes don't have forward facing emails, which means someone from the outside cannot email their corporate email account. Their network is segregated so even if you infect someone in maintenance construction you can only see files they are authorized to access. Finally, for most hackers who do it for financial gain, there is very little personal financial data that can be stolen and utilized for their own gain.

For it to be fraud they would have to make specific promises to use the money for a specific purpose with no intention to fulfill those promises. It would also have to be proven that individuals benefited from that money that were unreasonable. Most large charities have paid administrative stuff that must be paid, which they are allowed to do. It just can't be that they are paid beyond reasonable rates. I know you feel that they are guilty of that but it must be what is provable in law.

Certainly the law firm that is filing this has taken a lot into account but it is not as easy as people think and they may lose. Look at in the US the Berry case that was won by Watchtower, even though the law firm that took on the case did all of their homework and thought that they had a real case.
I found this interesting about class action cases in Canada.
